Educazione Parentale è il Network Italiano per i genitori che decidono di seguire personalmente l'educazione dei propri figli.

Possono far parte di quest'organizzazione anche coloro che hanno intenzione di occuparsi dell'istruzione dei propri figli in futuro e coloro che lo hanno fatto in passato ed ora hanno figli ormai grandi. Educazione Parentale non segue nessuna ideologia specifica, è aperta a tutti coloro che praticano l'educazione familiare indipendentemente dalla loro religione, filosofia di vita, paese d'origine, identità etnica, metodo educativo e stato di salute (sia del figlio che del genitore). Il nostro scopo è di accogliere realtà quanto più diversificate possibile per creare una comunità multiculturale. Educazione Parentale è anche un forum dove possiamo incontrarci per condividere idee ed esperienze. In questo modo c'incoraggeremo e ci sosterremo concretamente a vicenda al fine di aiutare i nostri figli a crescere e ad istruirsi nel modo che riteniamo più adatto a loro. 

Educazione Parentale è al servizio dei genitori e include: l'organizzazione di eventi e meeting per famiglie, pagine dedicate alla didattica con esempi dei programmi scolastici, sezioni dedicate a ciascuna fascia d'età, un database aggiornato delle famiglie che praticano homeschooling in Italia (utile per chi cerca contatti nella propria zona), iniziative estere e molto altro. I membri si potranno tenere aggiornati sulle leggi (tramite il nostro avvocato) e sulle reciproche esperienze con le istituzioni.

Desideriamo che l'educazione a casa diventi maggiormente accessibile e conosciuta, diamo quindi sostegno alle famiglie che la praticano offrendo un ambiente protetto e organizzato dove interagire. Insieme, per non sentirsi soli!

Educazione Parentale ha bisogno del vostro aiuto per crescere e avere una voce propria, una forza, che legittimi la nostra scelta educativa. Uniamoci in quest'organizzazione per contare di più sia nelle vicende personali (abusi di potere e ignoranza), sia in quelle collettive (legislazione ITA/EU).

Non riusciamo da soli a sostenere questa iniziativa che oltre a richiedere un forte impegno in termini di tempo, ha anche dei costi di gestione. Vi chiediamo quindi di partecipare ai "lavori in corso" con un'offerta annuale. L'offerta base (per famiglia), ora che siamo nei primi mesi di attivazione, è di euro 19 all'anno, ovviamente chi volesse sostenerci con una somma più generosa è pregato di farsi avanti! Questo ci permette anche di selezionare e regolare gli ingressi al sito favorendo solo coloro che sono realmente interessati.

E' meno di un euro e mezzo al mese, ma nel caso in cui aveste dei problemi economici che non vi permettano di accedere al sito scriveteci una email.

Educazione Parentale is an organization of parents (and other adults who function as such) who home educate their children, or have done so in the past, or plan to do so in the future.

This platform dedicated to members is meant for all parents who (plan to) home-educate in Italy, regardless of their religion, personal philosophy, country of origin, ethnic identity, occupation and educational method.

It aspires to help home educators support each other in order to serve the needs and interests of their children in the way they think is best. It also aims to make home education more accessible in Italy, land of home ed. pioneers. Educazione Parentale offers its members a forum where we can meet each other and share our ideas and experiences, events for children, various groups devided by regions/cities, groups for families who have bi/trilingual children and a specific area dedicated to English speaking families.

Home Education is legal in this Country even though it is hardly ever considered as a real possibility. There are few homeschooling families but they remain a minority against the vast majority of the population that believes not sending kids to school, in order to teach your own, is against the law and will lead to detention.

Despite the fact that there exists a fairly clear legislation on this subject, schools – which hardly ever have to deal with HS – tend to judge this choice negatively and don't support the students (obviously there are some exceptions). Here in Italy HS parents who want to have their children tested each year have to present a personal curriculum at the beginning of the school year which will then have to be approved by the head master.

I am a mom of 4 children aged seven, five, three and one. I have American and Italian citizenship and my kids are bilingual. My husband and I chose home education because we believe children belong with their families and don't have to spend eight hours a day, five days a week segregated in a building having to ask permission for talking, standing and going to the bathroom. We don't want to mold our children, we want them to have the freedom to learn for their own reasons, asking questions not answering them while taking part in life's immense diversity of situations.
